We are a progressive community of believers being transformed, by God, and transforming others through spiritual development, radical generosity, holistic wellness, social witness, and community engagement.
At The Grove, we are Transformed People. Transforming the World.
We are transforming the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Dr. Dow leads our growing and vibrant congregation, of more than 2,500 members, in our vision of transforming lives. His ministry focuses on empowering people to reach their maximum potential in life, family and work.
He previously served as the National Director of the NAACP's Youth and College Division. The Division is the nation’s largest organized group of youth activists with more than 20,000 members under the age of 25.
Dr. Dow earned a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and an Executive Certificate from the Morehouse School of Medicine. He also earned a Master of Divinity from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University and a Doctor of Ministry from Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio.
He is extremely fortunate to share life with his wife and best friend, Dr. Jacqueline Dow, a public health research scientist and Chief Executive Officer of J. Dow Fitness. Together, they are the proud parents of one son, Jackson Andrew Elijah.
We are a historic congregation in the Marietta community. Since 1885, Pleasant Grove has stood as a beacon of Christian witness, providing life and light to individuals, families, and our community. As we stand on our rich history and heritage, we continue to explore opportunities to minister to this present age.
